Sellicks Beach ......

Sellicks Beach  -  Fleurieu Peninsula

a long walk along this rather remote but beautiful coastline
different light and shade with variable skies
and an incoming tide which I realized might leave me
stranded on the rocks or worse
made for an interesting day out with my Canon

Blue skies and Roses ..........

~ coorong national park ~

this week in my home city of Adelaide
we have had blue skies and soft warm days
perfect for a bit of birding
and of course - smelling the roses

~ red-necked avocet ~

I was delighted to spot this beautiful shore-bird  along the Coorong
long tall blue stockinged legs
and a long curved elegant beak

~ pierre-de-ronsard ~

this old fashioned rose was bred by the famous
rose growers in the south of France - Meilland
It's one of the prettiest climbing roses
As you know  - I love all things French
And I just had to buy it

Spring Time ........

~  wild roses growing in my garden ~

One of the prettiest seasons
when roses bloom - little spring treasures delight our days
 skies are clear and blue

~ anemone - from the buttercup family ~

Early Australiana ......

 Mikkira Cottage  ~

many early settlers and their families would have lived in little
stone cottages like this in rural South Australia in the 1800's
4 rooms and 2 large fire-places ensured a cosy environment in the winter

dreaming of warmer days .....

~   Henley Beach in Autumn   ~

Because it is the middle of winter - cold and damp !!
I find myself thinking back to a few weeks ago
when autumn sunshine filled my life
and it was so nice to be out beach-walking
enjoying the sun on my face and clicking away with my Canon

lotus pond .......

Walking in the Adelaide Botanic Gardens last week
I was delighted to find beauty amid the dead and dying lotus pond

Pods which a few weeks back had been the centre for wonderful pink petals
have now nodded their head and formed little ballerina skirts
Leaves which had previously been vibrant green and alive
have now started to curl at the edges and develop into shades of burnished gold
creating a more mellow beauty

wishing you all a lovely week

aquamarine .......

South of Semaphore Beach  ~

walking along the sea-front this morning -
I was a little fearful that I wouldn't reach shelter
before a heavy downpour of rain
Fortunately it stayed out to sea & I could enjoy
the vista from a distance

Sky-watching in Melbourne ...

Unrestricted views over the vibrant city of Melbourne
these pics was taken very early morning

With so much glass it was lovely to see sky-shades of gold and blush pink
reflected all around then quickly changing to deeper blue - ever so pretty!
